Katy resident Jacob Peyton was named Delta Company Cadet of the Month for February 2015 at Marine Military Academy (MMA).

On March 2, Jacob Peyton was officially recognized for his achievement in front of his peers. Additionally, the superintendent and his wife hosted a special dinner for the sophomore. Jacob is the son of Kelly and Kerric Peyton.

In order for the sophomore be named Cadet of the Month, Peyton had to first be nominated by his drill instructor. Criteria for nominating a cadet include exemplary academic performance, conduct, attitude, and involvement at MMA.

The Marine Military Academy is a male-only school for boys in grades 8-12. The college-prep boarding school, which features the option of a post-graduate year, is located in Harlingen, Texas and is the site of the historic Iwo Jima Monument. MMA is the only private school in existence that bases itself on the traditions of the U.S. Marine Corps and its values.

All schools do more than teach a curriculum and, in the case of MMA and some other private schools, a specific, spelled out set of values. They also operate as small businesses and may therefore need the assistance of a stationery printing company

Following graduation, Peyton is looking forward to attending Texas A&M where he hopes to study marine biology and petroleum engineering. His ambition is to be employed as an engineer at the Superior Energy Services in Houston.
