Humble looking forward to Dash of the Divas

February 26, 2013 by

Presented by the Dash of the Titans, the all-girl Dash of the Divas 5K Mud Run will take place in Humble next month.

Skills are put to the test with 20 challenging obstacles encountered along the route. The goal is to “be a mistress of the mud”, finish the course, and join in the fun at the Post Race Party, which will feature beer, food, and music. It will be a true time of celebration for those divas meeting the muddy challenge of the day.

The event organizing entity, Dash of the Titans, supports fundraising to fight cancer. Portions of proceeds, along with donations and sponsorships, are given to the MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Family and friends are encouraged to form teams for the mud race, although individuals are most certainly welcome to participate. Registration options are available online.

Print companies typically participate in providing needed materials for events of this type. Banner printing is a key component of marathons or 5K runs as they are needed for directional guidance for the participants.

The Dash of the Divas is currently seeking volunteers. It takes a great deal of organization and effort to present and manage an event of this magnitude. Volunteers contribute their time for a worthy cause, receive free entrée to the run, food for the day, and a souvenir T-shirt. Assistance is needed with registration in the main tent, handling water stations, helping with clean-up, monitoring obstacle areas and stations, and other general tasks.

The run will take place on March 23, beginning at Townsend Park with the first competitive waive starting at 9:00 am and continuing every 30 minutes until noon.
