Houston Autorama slams on its brakes over Thanksgiving

Car lovers in Houston were handed a treat over the long Thanksgiving weekend this year. The George R. Brown Convention Center hosted the 54th annual Autorama, a classic car show for the whole family. The four-day event featured in excess of 600 classic cars and hours of entertainment for just about everyone.

There were a variety of events and featured displays to choose from. A freestyle motocross stunt show was performed seven times over the course of the weekend. Well-known vehicle customization expert Gene Winfield presented his ‘All-American Chop Shop’ demonstrations. Several celebrity guests made appearances, including professional wrestlers Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels.

There were also some less traditional events this year, like the Pinup Girl Contest, ‘Texas Style’ music performances, dance and fashion shows, and even an arts and crafts area. Attendees were also able to attend an automotive swap meet and ‘Toyarama’, while there was also a chance to buy and sell at the Dan Kruse Classics Collector Car Auction.

Although the Autorama wrapped up on Sunday afternoon, highlights from the show are available on the event’s website, including a video from the auction and photos of the ‘Magnificent 7’ cars in the final competition for the Millwinders Award, which comes with top honors and a $5’000 prize.

Flyer and poster printing is an effective way to spread the word about an event like this, since interesting advertisements can be the perfect way to grab the attention of potential attendees.
