Hollywood comes to Houston with local lecture series

January 11, 2014 by

Two Hollywood heavy hitters will be speaking at the Wortham Theater Center in the coming weeks. As part of the 2014 Brilliant Lecture Series, both Robert Duvall and Diane Keaton will speak to audiences about their careers.

Duvall will be the first to speak later this month, and Keaton will follow this in early February. Both have had long and celebrated careers as actors, writers, producers, and directors. In addition to tickets to the lectures, VIP reception tickets and additional sponsorship opportunities are available. More information about the Brilliant Lectures Series, and about the individual lectures, is available on the organization’s website.

The series aims to educate and inspire community members through interactive presentations with international leaders and role models. Speakers featured in the lecture series usually emphasize personal dreams and the importance of following them, and often focus on involvement with local communities and community organizations.

The series frequently publishes related resources and make them available to attendees of the event and those not able to attend, usually through local libraries and other publicly accessible means. Previous speakers in the series include Julie Andrews, Stephen Hawking, George Clooney, Mikhail Gorbachev, and Sidney Poitier.

Creating a flyer and postcard printing campaign is a great way to inform residents in the area about events like these and invite them to buy tickets to attend.

Those interested should note the dates of Thursday, January 23 for Duvall’s speech, and Thursday, February 6 for Keaton’s. Both begin at 7:00 pm.
