Annual festival raising funds for hurricane relief

The East End Street Fest is coming back to Houston next month. A presentation of the East End Improvement Corporation, proceeds from this event will be donated to Hurricane Harvey Relief.

This popular annual event usually attracts 10,000 visitors due to the variety of entertainment available.

There will be live musical entertainment on the stage, strolling street performers, and several DJs spinning tunes. There will also be a bike valet, a charging zone, and food and drink for purchase.

Activities will be divided into several zones including the Kids’ Zone, the Heritage Dance Zone, the Cultural Food Zone, and the Climate Zone. Most of the performers will be local to the East End and the festival will give them a showcase.

Sponsorships are still available for $5,000 up to $15,000. Sponsors will be recognized in all printed materials and will have the choice of funding specific zones.

There was some doubt the festival would take place this year due to Hurricane Harvey, but thankfully organizers managed to pull it off. No doubt it will attract plenty of Houston residents with help from a local marketing services company.

The East End Street Fest will be held at the East End Esplanade on October 21 from 12:00 noon to 10:00 PM. Admission is free, although guests are encouraged to register in advance online. For more information, contact Dan Joyce at 713-928-9916.
