Touted as being among the season’s highlights for fundraising, the 2012 Total Jingle Bell Run & Walk will take place December 9 in downtown Houston. Over 5,000 runners, walkers, and supporters are expected to participate this year.

Participants of any fitness level are welcomed as three races will be available to choose the best fit. A special race is scheduled for children under 13, called the ‘Kids Fun Run’ along with a three-mile run and walk and a five-mile run for the most physically fit. Participants are encouraged to dress up in their holiday costumes so spectators and other runners can enjoy the spirit in addition to having a chance to win a prize.

The event starts at 1:00 pm and will benefit the Tellepsen Family Downtown YMCA Partners Campaign. The organization provides scholarship monies for YMCA programs for those without the funds to pay. The Tellepsen Family Downtown YMCA Partners Campaign supports the goal of enriching the lives of residents.

Prizes will be awarded for participation in the various race events, including the Kids Fun Run, where every child who participates will receive a prize. Additionally, male and female first and second place winners will receive prizes awarded by age groups. The costume contest will recognize winners for best adult costume, best child costume, and best group costume.

Often, management companies for events of this type work with local printing companies to provide promotional and operational printing materials. Banner printing is usually a key component for a race to ensure routes and other important locations are clearly marked.
