Bob the Builder visits Dallas for annual Kids Expo

March 22, 2012 by

This Saturday, March 24, the Dallas Market Hall will host the fourth annual Dallas Kids Expo, where parents can attend educational seminars and exhibits while the kids watch a magic show, visit the petting zoo, or meet Bob the Builder. The Expo will also be a great opportunity for local businesses and vendors to raise awareness about products and services, so it may be a good idea for anyone planning to rent a booth at the Expo to look into business card printing or flyer printing in advance.

“Let’s Move in 2012,” this year’s theme, will focus on raising health awareness among both parents and children with exciting activities, seminars, and resources. Among them will be Medical City Children’s Hospital’s health food program, designed to teach kids of all ages about the childhood obesity epidemic, and tips on a healthier diet.

New and expectant mothers can check out “Oh Baby! Alley” for workshops on pregnancy and newborn preparation, while busy moms relax at the Modern Moms Makeover Contest and parents with older children attend the “Ultimate Birthday Party Experience” workshop, where they’ll find an award winning baker, a DJ, and many party planning ideas and resources. In addition, many booths are offering prizes and giveaways, from a twin mattress set to a Nook, strollers, high chairs, and more.

Tickets are currently available online for $7, increasing to $12 at the door. Kids’ entry is free if they bring a jar of peanut butter or a one dollar donation for the DKE Peanut Butter Challenge, which aims to collect over 1,200 jars of peanut butter for the North Texas Food Bank.
