A rheumatologist in Allen is at the center of a new study for rheumatoid arthritis. Doctor John Lavery will be working with Accent Clinical Research Professionals, LLC. on a drug study to discover new treatments. Over 50 million people suffer with the condition in the US, with Texas alone having four million sufferers.

Autoimmune disease rheumatoid arthritis causes inflammation of the joints along with a range of other symptoms, including weight loss, fever, fatigue and swollen tender joints. The number of women suffering from the condition is double the number of men, with the cause of the joint disease remaining unknown. However, sufferers in Texas are being given some hope as willing volunteers will be able to take part in the drug study with Dr Lavery. It is possible that flyer printing services will be used to promote the drug research and provide an opportunity for willing volunteers to take part in the study.

Recent studies which have been carried out for the treatment of chronic pain in the joints have made advances and indicate that there could be hope ahead for those who have the debilitating condition. Rheumatoid arthritis tricks your body into attacking tissue which is healthy. Eventually, following painful swelling and stiffness in the joint, a sufferer may lose the function of that joint. Although the condition can occur at any age it is more common in people aged between 30 and 50years old. Dr John Lavery emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis to prevent further damage to the body.
