Father’s Day Weekend golf tournament to benefit Tucson Children’s Museum

May 21, 2013 by

Dads from the Tucson area are invited to celebrate their special day by playing a round of golf for a good cause.

Next month, La Paloma Country Club will be hosting the Ninth Annual Father’s Day Weekend Golf Classic for the benefit of the city’s Children’s Museum. Stationery printers are likely hard at work as representatives from the museum correspond with Caterpillar and other businesses that have volunteered to sponsor the fundraiser.

The spouses and children of participating golfers will be welcome to watch the event unfold. There will also be plenty of other activities to keep attendees entertained, including raffles, contests, and awards. Lunch will be provided for everyone.

Proceeds from the tournament will go toward exhibits and other learning programs at Children’s Museum Tucson, which strives to teach local youngsters through play and hands-on experiments.

Some participating families may wish to stay overnight on the premises of the country club. Those interested in doing so may reserve rooms at its on-site resort for a discounted rate.

The Golf Classic will take place on Saturday, June 15. Registration will begin at 6:30 am, and the tournament itself will start at 7:30 am. The cost will be $175 for individual golfers and a total of $700 for those who choose to participate in groups of four.

La Paloma Country Club is located at 3660 East Sunrise Drive. Those who would like to register for the event, reserve a discounted hotel room, or learn additional details may contact Dan Moxley at (520) 792-9985 x112.
