Phoenix area golfers to swing for prizes and charity

Thousands of golfers from Tempe and other cities and towns in the Phoenix area are preparing to compete at the Wells Fargo Fiesta Bowl Million Dollar Hole-in-One, with hopes of winning a handsome prize.

In just over a week, the competition will be kicking off at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club. Printing companies may be seeing a surge in business as the parties behind this event order banners, flyers, and posters.

This will be the contest’s 29th year in Arizona. It will be open to all amateur golfers over the age of 18 and will initially run for nine days. The leading three contenders from each day will be eligible to compete in a final game. The first golfer to hit the designated $1m hole during this match will win a cash prize of that amount. The course will also include a pair of $50,000 holes.

The event will be free for members of the public to attend. Golfers will need to pay $1 per golf ball. This year, Tempe’s own Dixon Golf will be providing environmentally-friendly balls.

Proceeds from the Million Dollar Hole-in-One will go toward Fiesta Bowl Charities, which supports youth programs, hospitals, and a number of non-profit organizations.

The preliminary tournament will begin on Thursday, October 31 and continue through Saturday, November 9. The final match will take place on Sunday, November 10.

The Arizona Biltmore Golf Club is located at 2400 East Missouri Avenue in Phoenix. Those seeking more information may call (480) 517-6266.
