The Arabian Horse Association of Arizona invites people everywhere to its 59th Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show and Shopping Expo to be held next month.

The event will showcase almost 2,400 Arabian beauties that will compete over 11 days of events in the Equidome, Wendell, the Wells Fargo Advisors Reining Area, the Market Insurance Arena, and South Hall.

More than 300 vendors will be selling a variety of items ranging from works of art to clothing, show apparel, jewelry, an assortment of horse equipment, and, of course, food.

Hundreds of thousands of people attend this event every year—prize money in the premier classes runs as high as $33,000 for the first place finisher. Free educational demonstrations will be presented daily in the area’s round pens. Also, demos will be presented by world renowned horse experts and $5,000, $10,000, and $20,000 scholarships will be awarded by River Run Farms and the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona.

A children’s art contest for kindergarteners to sixth graders asks that each entry have an Arabian horse depicted in each picture. The photography contests for the adults have categories such as Horse & Buddy, That’s My Baby, Beautiful Arabian, and Clowning Around. Entrants will no doubt want to have duplicates of their entries made for possible postcard printing later, because entries will not be returned. The winner will get $100.

The horse show runs from February 13 to February 23 at WestWorld of Scottsdale, which can be found at 16601 N Pima Rd.
