Downtown Chandler to host St. Patrick’s Day bash

March 10, 2014 by

Downtown Chandler will soon be transformed into the site of a spirited holiday gathering.

This weekend, local residents will be changing into their favorite green attire and taking part in the annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival. Printing companies may be experiencing a rise in orders as the vendors involved in this community celebration request banners and posters for the big day.

This will be the event’s sixth year in Chandler. Attendees of all ages will enjoy traditional Irish food, drinks, music, and dancing. Performers will include Chuck E. Baby and the All Stars, The Arizona Fire Service Pipe Band, and students from the city’s own Bracken School of Irish Dance. Those who visit the festival will also be able to purchase souvenirs and participate in a variety of contests and games.

Attendees will be encouraged to wear their most creative costumes to the festival. Some have dressed as leprechauns at past events, while others have chosen to wear green wigs or sport green fingernails.

The St. Patrick’s Day Festival is scheduled for Saturday, March 15 at AJ Chandler Park (58 South San Marcos Place). It will run from 12:00 pm until midnight. After 5:00 pm, it will only be open to guests who are 21 or older. General admission will cost $10.

Murphy’s Law Irish Pub and Ale House is sponsoring this event. Those seeking additional information may call (480) 812- 1588.
