Chandler hotel to host large-scale fundraising event

A popular vacation destination in Chandler is once again set to become the center of a three-day fundraiser. For the second straight year, Michael Finney’s Dry Heat Classic will be held at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino. A printing company has likely been creating flyers to promote the festivities, which will occur in about one week’s time and will benefit a number of charities in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

The Dry Heat Classic will run from this Thursday, July 11, through Saturday, July 13. On the Thursday, celebrities and local business sponsors will gather at the hotel to register for a golf tournament. They will then enjoy a Celebrity Chef’s Dinner and participate in live and silent auctions.

Some of the golfers will travel to Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa the next day, although the second round of the competition will take place on the Saturday at Whirlwind Golf Club, which is located in close proximity to Wild Horse Pass. After the tournament, participants will return to the hotel for an awards ceremony.

Members of the general public will arrive at Wild Horse Pass on Friday and Saturday evening to watch a 7:00 pm variety show, which will feature stand-up comedy, live music, and magic tricks. The main magician will be Michael Finney, who first organized the Dry Heat Classic 17 years ago.

Proceeds from all of the events will go toward local non-profit organizations, including those that help children. Tickets for the variety show are available for $25. Those interested in attending should call 1-800-946-4452 ext. 7370.
