Centennial Celebration For Chandler

From Thursday, May 17th to Saturday, May 19th , Chandler will be hosting its “Chandler Centennial Celebration Weekend” at various locations throughout the city. Friday’s events will be held at the City Hall Plaza from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, Friday’s events will be held in Historic Downtown Chandler from 4pm to 10pm, and Saturday’s events will be held in Tumbleweed Park from 4pm to 10pm.

Chandler is celebrating its 100th birthday. At Friday’s event guests will be able to check out the 50 year time capsule, as well as the dedication plaque. The Mayor will honor all Chandler’s centenarians, as well as announce the “Birthday Cake” design winners for this big event.

On Friday the theme of the day is “100 Artists Celebrating 100 Years”. At this event guests will be able to view artisan work, food, music, and learn more about the history of Chandler. The centennial scholarships winners will be announced and guests will be able to mingle with the dignitaries and sponsors at the elegant evening reception. The art walk during this event has been expanded and the Farmer’s Market will be open to all. There will be entertainment and copies of the “Centennial Neighborhood History Cookbook” available.

Printing companies may have been busy with business card printing, flyer printing, and stationery printing for this 100th celebration event. Admission to this event is free and open to all.
