Light entertainment in Casa Grande today

December 1, 2012 by

Today’s 14th Annual Electric Light Parade is a great opportunity for families to come out and enjoy the holiday kick-off for the Christmas season. The festive activities may have been promoted using poster printing or flyer printing, so people come out and join in the activities taking place in downtown Casa Grande.

Winter Wonderland will be in full swing with lots of activities, games, and face painting. There will be live musical entertainment and a visit with the jolly old soul, Santa Claus. Children under the age of 12 will receive free goodie bags and have their picture taken with St. Nick.

This year, the parade itself begins at 6:00 pm, kicked off by the lighting of the official Christmas tree. All the activities prior to the lighting of the Christmas tree and parade take place on Florence Street and Third Street. There will be ice skating at the rink from 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm and pre-parade activities from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Visits with Santa are scheduled from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Paramount Theater and Brad Kepler will appear at the Elks Lodge at 5:00 pm.

From 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, entertainment will include Dennis Beye and De Porter, Two Dance Studio Dance Classes, Hoyt Girls, Park and Recreation Dance Classes, and Desert Country Musicians. The tree lighting ceremony takes place in front of the City Hall at 5:45 pm and the Electric light Parade follows, leaving on Collidge Avenue.

The Parade will leave at 5:30 pm this evening, December 1, from Peart Park located at 350E 6th Street in Casa Grande, arizona. To view the full schedule for this day, please visit the Casa Grande Parks and Recreation’s website or call 520-421-8677.
