College near Casa Grande preparing to welcome new students

Casa Grande residents who plan to enroll at Central Arizona College this fall are encouraged to attend the school’s first orientation session for the upcoming academic year.

Several hundred new students are expected to participate in this event, which will take place toward the end of the month at the institution’s Signal Peak Campus in the neighboring town of Coolidge. Brochure printers have likely been seeing an increase in use as staff members from the college prepare informational packets for attendees.

Those who make time for the orientation will find themselves well-acquainted with the campus and its programs before the semester begins in mid-August. They will learn how they can become involved in various groups and activities and will also have a chance to meet members of Signal Peak’s faculty and staff.

Attendees will be able to bring up to two friends or family members with them to the event. A raffle drawing will net one incoming student a $200 scholarship.

Students will need to be accepted into Central Arizona College before they can register for the orientation. The school is still taking applications for admission.

The introductory session is scheduled for Thursday, July 25, and will last from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm. Students interested in registering may do so online or by calling (520) 494-5524.

The Signal Peak Campus is located at 8470 North Overfield Road and will be holding additional orientation meetings on Tuesday, August 13 and on Wednesday, August 14. The fall semester will officially begin on Friday, August 16.
