Memphis organization issues call for volunteers

Memphis residents who are looking for a way to give back to their community may wish to check out an event that has been organized for this August.

Agape Child and Family Services will be playing host to a workshop that will provide both its partners and prospective volunteers with an opportunity to learn more about the organization, what it does, and how they can help. There will also be a discussion of the factors that contribute to poverty in Memphis and the role the public can play in making a difference.

Members of the group’s volunteer team will be on hand during the session to answer questions from the attendees and help them decide if volunteering with Agape is a good fit for them. The public will be able to find out more about what its volunteers do and what sorts of supports the organization provides to those who help it in its work, and snacks will be served.

This workshop has been scheduled to run for approximately two hours, and participation is free. Promotional pens and other items to distribute to those who take part in this sort of function can be prepared for its organizers by a local print company.

The Agape Child and Family Services information session will be taking place on August 18. It will be held at 3160 Directors Row, and it will be starting at 10:00 am.
