Library upgrades on the cards thanks to art event

The 2nd annual Speak of Art reception is taking place in Jackson this coming week. Funds raised will go toward an assistive technology library at the West Tennessee Hearing and Speech Center.

The reception will feature a cash bar, free wine, appetizers, and live musical entertainment. Local artists such as Elaine Vars, Lendon Noe, and Jane Walls are also expected to be in attendance to meet and greet guests. Guests will be able to purchase most of the art on display during the event.

This event should allow many Jackson residents to discover the wide variety of artistic talent in their local area. Many might even use the reception as a chance to get started on their holiday shopping and to find an original, one-of-a-kind piece of art for a friend or family member. It will also be a plus for those artists who might not be well known in the community.

Sponsorships of the event are available to local businesses and individuals from $75 to $1,000.

Jackson printing services will often get involved in orders such as flyer printing used to advertise events like this. Flyers are one of the most versatile and effective forms of advertising, and have the added bonus of being inexpensive.

Speaking of Art is being held at the Flatiron Grille on October 17 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Tickets are $25 each. To find out more about the event, contact Kimberli Moore at 731-668-6076 or Carolyn Vaughan at 731-426-5815.
