The Lake City Farmers’ Market is planning a grand reopening ceremony on Thursday April 5th at 2:00p.m. at its newly renovated, fully enclosed facility in Lake City, just outside of  Myrtle Beach. The Certified South Carolina Community-based farmers market is no doubt using flyer printing and poster printing to make the local community aware of the fully restored market and to attract customers for the upcoming season.

There will be over 40 vendors in the Lake City Farmers’ Market, which has expanded in size from previous years, selling a variety of items that include plants and flowers, organically and conventionally-grown produce, sausages, heritage pork, eggs, barbeque sauces, cane syrup, herbs, honey, and specialty food items such as crafts, handmade soaps, baked goods, and fresh seafood. A regional band of performing artists from the area, the Blue Ridge Junction, will also be performing at the market on a daily basis.

Children’s activities will also be featured at the Market and will include a scavenger hunt, face painting, balloons, and a Mr. and Mrs. Farmer Jones wooden cut-out. Free blood pressure screenings will be offered by the Community Hospital of Lake City and Bargain Bingo will be available for playing between 3p.m. and 4p.m. every afternoon for a chance to win gifts cards from the supermarket retailer IGA which stocks many locally-grown products.

According to South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture, Hugh Weathers, the Lake City Farmers’ Market is a center of community activities where consumers can purchase healthy and fresh farm products at affordable prices and those from the farming and on-farming community have the opportunity to interact with each other. The Market serves as a great supporter of the local community.
