The engineering firm of McKim & Creed, Inc. recently acquired the assets of United Engineering Group, Inc., which is based in Charlotte. The financial terms and amount of purchase were not revealed. Both firms have locations in Charlotte, but no plans were mentioned about merging into one office at any point in the near future, revealed Marianna Boucher, who serves as spokeswoman for McKim & Creed.

Companies that purchase assets of other companies or merge with another business often require some changes to be made to printed materials. Stationery printing, business card printing, and other printing services may be needed to reflect changes within the infrastructure of a company or corporation.

Michael Creed, chief executive and chairman for McKim & Creed, stated:

“Combining our strengths with those of UEG enables us to increase the services we offer, and enhances our ability to develop sustainable, cost-effective electrical and energy solutions for our clients.”

United Engineering Group, founded in 1949, is headquartered at 5624 Executive Center Drive in Charlotte. The company provides a variety of design services for fire-protection, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical projects. It is the largest of the company’s three offices in North Carolina. The other two are located in Ashville and Raleigh. United Engineering employs a total of 40 individuals, 21 of whom are employed at the Charlotte location. Boucher reported that no layoffs of these employees are expected.

McKim & Creed, founded in 1978, is a surveying, planning and engineering firm with Raleigh-based headquarters. The company has 21 offices throughout North Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Georgia, Florida and Michigan.
