Three generations to have a ball in Cary

A rare win-win-win situation is available this weekend for kids, parents, and grandparents in Cary.

The Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh is hosting a special event aimed at grandparents and their grandchildren in anticipation of Grandparents Day. Parents can enjoy some peace and quiet at home while their offspring enjoy time with the grandparents on September 7. They will still have the official Grandparents Day on September 8 for their own usual family activities.

On Saturday, the museum will offer special activities designed for a variety of age groups from 9 am – 5 pm. Admission is $5 per person. Children accompanied by their grandparents can enjoy Marbles’ IMAX theater for free. Yet another of the specials planned for the day is the chance to interact with the senior women’s basketball team from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The team was featured in a documentary titled ‘Granny’s Got Game’.

Early birds and their grandchicks can enjoy a Buckaroo Breakfast at the museum 8:00 am – 9:30 am. Included with the breakfast will be a campfire sing-a-long and western activities. To participate in the Buckaroo Breakfast, preregistration is required; the cost for non-Marbles members is $20 per person while Marble members pay only $15 a person. The price for the Buckaroo Breakfast includes special activities and museum admission.

Grandparents who wish to make a trip to The Marbles Kids Museum a regular activity to share with their grandchildren can pick up any brochures or flyers available while at the museum. Moreover, they will probably want to sign up for any postcard printing that announces future events.
