Burlington weekend to be all about pets

October 3, 2013 by

Pet-related events are common in Burlington and the surrounding areas, but this weekend is one that has more than its share of activities. No doubt the various organizations sponsoring these events are using printing services to make the public aware of the goings-on, particularly leaning towards those interested in our four-legged friends.

This Saturday, October 5, at the PetSmart in Burlington, the Humane Society of Alamance County will be holding a cat adoption fair. In addition, the Society will be holding its annual Woofstock! event at the City Park Amphitheatre. A number of rescue groups in the area will be showing pets for adoption and there will also be music, food, and opportunities for shopping for newly adopted pets.

Also on Saturday at the Piedmont Saddle Club in Colfax, the 52nd annual horse show will be presented. Sponsored by the Jamestown Rotary, there is no charge to attend the show and Perky’s Café of Jamestown will be providing food and beverages.

Also, a rabies clinic will be at Pet Supplies Plus in Greensboro and is being sponsored by the SPCA of the Triad. There will be a $5 charge for the shots and they can protect a pet from rabies for up to one year. Another rabies vaccination clinic will be held at the Oak Ridge Community Park and is being sponsored by the Animal Control Program of the Guilford County Department of Public Health. The cost for the shots here is also $5.
