Hospital in Baton Rouge recognized for patient safety

The Fall 2018 Hospital Safety Grade recently awarded Ochsner Medical Center – Baton Rouge (OMCBR) an “A” from its Leapfrog Group.

Leapfrog is an organization whose goal is improve healthcare safety and quality for patients. The award means that the efforts of Ochsner Medical in Baton Rouge have been recognized as meeting the highest safety standards and protecting its patients from harm. A grade of A, B, C, D, or F is given to hospitals as determined by their ability to prevent infections, medical errors, and other harm as they treat their patients.

Eric McMillen, CEO of OMCBR, commented that the hospital always puts its patients first. The hospital has been the top A-rated hospital in Baton Rouge for the past several years, and is proud of its ability for innovation that is unlike any other hospital in the state. This is the seventh consecutive year that OMCBR has earned an A from the Leapfrog Group.

The hospital has won many other awards, including being among the top 100 hospitals on IBM Watson’s list for 2018 and earning the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award each year since 2015. Healthgrades has also named it a Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence.

It is for recognitions such as this one that organizations can turn to banner printing companies to create displays in the communities around them so people can learn more about such achievements.
