Statesboro Scare on the Square returns for 2012

The popular Halloween event ‘Scare on the Square’ is returning to Statesboro for its fourth outing, with the frightening family fun taking place just before the spooky night itself.

The popular event, which is supported by many local businesses, is being well advertised on social media outlets, while poster and leaflet printing is likely to be in full swing.

It all takes place on Saturday, October 27, with the first of the night’s activities getting under way at 5.30pm. Running through 9:00 pm, there will be a great deal to enjoy.

At 6:00 pm, one of the highlights of the show will see the costume contest take place. There are two groups – the first for little ones aged up to six years old, and the second for anyone older. Registration is necessary before the contest gets underway.

As well as a number of activity booths operated by local organizations, haunted hayrides and the haunted house, both located in the warehouse behind the GSU City Campus, will be available for frightful fun.

As well as trick-or-treating fun in the parking lot, the ‘Thriller!’ street dance closing the night will also be a great watch, with rehearsals still ongoing.

There will be a lot of delicious fall-style food on offer, with many local restaurants putting out stalls. Live music will keep things rolling along through the night too, while everyone will be able to enjoy the free candy which will be widely available the whole night.

Taking place in downtown Statesboro on Courthouse Square, the night is likely to be every bit as popular as it has been in previous years.
