Bigshow opens second location at GSU

Bigshow’s Burgers, one of the modern success stories of Statesboro-based businesses, has opened its second site, this time at Georgia Southern. It becomes the second store, following January’s opening of Bigshow’s flagship store, based at East Georgia Medical Center.

The store was opened on Friday, December 6, with a good deal of banner printing likely to have been used to announce the arrival.

The chain, dreamed up by Heath ‘Bigshow’ Robinson, has seen great success and, according to the General Manager of both sites, Stephen Maenpaa, the reason is simple:

“We decided Statesboro needed delicious burgers at a great price.”

The new store is located where the former The Sports Page was; right in the heart of the university campus. A major renovation has made the former ale and grill house unrecognizable, however.

It is also within easy access of the Chandler and Lanier roads intersection, and right next door to Paulson Stadium.

This already enviable location, ideally placed for sporting events and students, is also within close distance of a number of residential and commercial properties. Many students also stay in dorms in the area.

Talking about the site, Maenpaa said:

“We’re so visible.

“We have the opportunity to generate more awareness for our brand.”

There are already a good number of restaurants, bars, and diners in the area, but strong advertising, such as poster and flyer printing, could help the chain really make a mark.

The chain believes its unique offering of specially prepared and individual burgers will also help.
