Red carpet premiere comes to Snellville

October 16, 2013 by

This week sees a stellar show come to town, with poster printing no doubt well ahead of the game. It is not often that Snellville folks gets to see a red carpet movie premiere, but that is exactly what is happening tomorrow.

Made in Georgia, the hotly-tipped indie film ‘Stand Your Ground – The True Story of A Cry for Justice’ will be showing at Carmike Theater 12.

Based on two non-fiction novels by local author Jackie Carpenter, the movie is set largely in a courtroom and explores the personal tragedy of Carpenter’s family and the trial of her son.

According to the blurb carried on all the poster printing and banner printing materials for the film:

“Jackie’s and Jason’s world spins into turmoil, sending them on parallel journeys of wavering faith and tentative hope. Stand Your Ground is the true story of tragedy, trust and triumph, and of a cry for justice.”

What makes the premiere even for more special is that it was filmed entirely within Georgia. Specifically with shoot locations in Carrollton, Newnan, and Senoia, it is likely to make for an even more meaningful film for folks here.

The film’s significance has already been widely noted, however, having won a number of accolades already, like best screenplay, best drama, and best picture at a host of top film festivals.

Taking place at Carmike in Snellville this Thursday, October 17, the ‘Stand Your Ground’ premiere starts at 7.15 pm with members of the cast and crew attending.
