A new Asian fusion restaurant is to open its doors in Snellville, with print companies here ready to help with printing up the posters, flyers and menus.

The location of Rice Box will be well known to many, as it moves into the old Dickey’s Barbecue premises near Highway 78

The new restaurant is expected to open at the start of the yea, with the final plans for the menu being done as the refurbishment gets under way. Offering casual dining inside, as well as delivery and collection orders, the store says that noodles and rice cooked to order will be the signature.

Talking about the plans, project manager Ken Chen said:

“It’s going to be modern and refreshing.”

Chen and his brother Jimmy have been working on the store since they acquired it in August. With a full renovation taking place, Ken continued to say that from the floors to the walls, everything has been worked on.

The Chen family has been in the restaurant trade for a number of years, with Ken saying that it soon became clear to the brothers that things could be done better. A number of Connecticut restaurants later, and the move to Atlanta happened

It is a move the brothers are happy about, with Ken saying he expects the Snellville store to thrive. He said:

“When we hopped on this building, we got a good feeling about it.”

The Rice Box is slated to open through January 2014, with the owners expecting to open other locations in the metro Atlanta area.
