Peachtree City gets ready to Shakerag everything up

September 16, 2013 by

This weekend sees the arrival of the annual Shakerag Arts and Crafts Festival, with poster printing probably more than evident throughout Peachtree City and all over the local area, and perhaps a lot farther afield as well.

As well as thousands of visitors hoping for great weather for the two-day event, the vendors, performers and exhibitors from Georgia and all over the South will all be hoping the same. There is no rain date planned for this show, after all.

However, now well on its way to forty years of running, the annual show can always lift the spirits, and that is not just down to the food and drink being offered.

One of the greatest shows of the year for Bluegrass, there is a great deal going on across the weekend. As well as the music and the food, there will be lots of stalls showing off their pottery and ceramic works, paintings, and clothes, along as many other crafts. Pet accessories will also likely be popular throughout the show.

There is also a great deal going on for the kids, with a host of games and inflatables with which to have fun. There will also be a pony ride stall, to keep even the little ones entertained through the day.

Entry is free, with many people expected to attend the 36th running of the event on Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22.

Saturday’s event gets started at 10:00 pm and runs through 6:00 pm, with Sunday running from noon through 5:00 pm.
