Newnan CTCA gets closer to opening day

The opening of the Newnan facility for Cancer Treatment Centers of America’s is (CTCA) getting closer. There has already been too well attended job fairs, where poster printing was used to great effect, but other events to mark the August 15th opening are set to take place.

There have already been two job fairs to recruit members of staff for the facility. The first saw more than 700 turn out, whilst a similar number is thought to have attended May 8th. Recruitment for the center is tough though, whilst there are only 70 places available – 50 posts already having been filled and another 60 posts created through transfers from other operations.

It is a tight time line, with less than 60 days remaining until the doors first open, so it is possible that more job events could be held in the future. However, the president and CEO of CTCA’s Southeastern Regional Medical Center, Kane Dawson is confident the staff will be found.

Initially, the center will have just 25 outpatient beds for patients, which is thought to be sufficient for the immediate future. Mr Dawson said:

“We don’t need that many beds, so 25 will accommodate us for a couple of years.”

However, the license extends to 50 beds, so extra capacity can readily be developed as and when the demand dictates.

Located between I-85 and Newnan Crossing Bypass, east of Ashley Park, the facility has an ideal location.

After its first month in operation, the facility will host a grand public ceremony on September 18th, so many more banner printing and flyer printing runs will likely be required.
