Kennesaw State University (KSU) is getting ready to put on its 2013 Donuts & Notes event; the 12th running of the popular concert and art show.

The free event, hosted by KSU’s College of Continuing and Professional Education, is a way for local folks to kick off the holiday season. Comprising a seasonal concert and art expo, the day will also see refreshments, including the all-important donuts, of course.

The assistant dean of the KSU college, Michelle Girage, explaining how it is a must-attend show. He said:

“We look forward to once again hosting this unique event to ring in the spirit of the season,

“Additionally, art students and their instructors will showcase their masterpieces for all to see.”

The artwork is being displayed by artists from the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. About 40 examples are set to be on show, many of which will be up for sale.

There will also be a number of performances put on by local musicians to enjoy. These will include a performance from the children’s choir from Big Shanty Elementary. The Society Express Band’s Jeni Michelson will also offer a show.

To close the event, the Song of Atlanta Show Chorus will bring together over 100 women, presenting a unique demonstration of barbershop music.

With poster printing likely to advertise the event, prior registration is needed for the event taking place in room 400 at the KSU Center. It will be held 10:00 am through noon this Friday, December 6.
