Olde Fashioned Fourth of July celebration to return to Winter Park

June 13, 2013 by

The 18th annual Olde Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration is one of the many fun things happening in Winter Park on this Independence Day.

There will be something for everyone to enjoy. There will be live music from the Bach Festival Brass Band and the Bach Festival Choir. The Orlando Cloggers will be performing, as will the Rockin’ Roadster Show.

Guests are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy, although free hot dogs, water, and watermelon will be available while supplies last and there will be snacks for purchase. In addition, there will be children’s activities and inflatables, a bicycle parade from City Hall to the park and games for people of all ages.

As part of the celebration, the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art will be holding an open house.

The July 4 Watermelon 5K run/walk is also taking place in Winter Park. All proceeded raised by participants will be donated to the Track Shack Foundation. There will also be a watermelon eating contest afterwards.

It is likely that Winter Park area printing companies will be helping the organizers of the walk provide the pledge forms necessary to raise funds.

The Olde Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration will take place in Central Park from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. For more information, call 407-599-3463. The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum will be open free to the public from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm.

The 22nd annual Watermelon 5K, meanwhile, will begin at 7:00 am on July 4 in Central Park. Call 407-896-1160 for more information.
