The 6th annual Road to Health Poker Run to support Shriner’s Hospital for Children will kick off at Kahuna’s Bar and Grill in St. Petersburg on March 3 at 11 am. Poker costs $20 for the first hand and $10 for each subsequent hand.

The Poker Run will be held in various establishments in the Tampa/St. Petersburg/Clearwater area. Those taking part are the Egypt Shrine, the Oldsmar Moose Lodge, JC Cravers Bar & Grill and the Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery. There will be a $450 prize for the best hand of the day and a $50 prize for the worst hand of the day. The event will finish off at the Tilted Kilt for the Last Stop Party. The party will feature raffles, prizes and food and drink specials.

Why not make this a company-wide morale booster for your business? The Shriner’s Hospital for Children is a very worthy cause and supporting any fund raising events for this organization will raise the respect that the community has for of your company. Encouraging your employees to compete or to support those who are competing will bring them closer together as a team. You could run a competition in which the person or team who raises the most money will receive a certificate or have their name added to a plaque. Local printing companies can help design and create the perfect product to recognize their commitment.

The event is to raise funds for the Shriner’s Hospital for Children located in Tampa. The mission of the Shriner’s Hospitals throughout the United States is to “provide the highest quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and other special healthcare needs within a compassionate, family-centered and collaborative care environment.” If a family cannot afford to pay for the necessary treatments, care is provided free of charge.
