Sunrise goes to the dogs this weekend

January 29, 2013 by

Coming up this weekend, Woofstock offers a fun day out for both owners and their pets and is one of comparatively few events in the area to which guests are not only allowed, but are welcome, to bring their dogs.

Woofstock events are held all over the United States and Canada during both summer and winter. Like most others, the Sunrise event will feature demonstrations of rescue dogs, live entertainment, food for humans and dogs, vendors, challenges, and contests. There will also be the opportunity to adopt a dog.

Some of the challenges in which dogs can take part are the Challenge Lure Course and the Doggie Downs Oval Race Track. There will be contest held for the ‘grooviest threads’, ‘the gnarliest trick’ and the ‘most righteous kisser’. It should be a day filled with fun activities for people to share with their dogs.

Organizers of this event are likely working with Sunrise printing companies to help produce either flyers or posters to advertise it to the community. For example, flyers can be distributed through direct mail or distributed to local veterinarian’s offices, while posters can be displayed in public buildings where dog owners are likely to show up.

Woofstock will take place at the Sawgrass Sanctuary this Saturday, February 2, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Admission is free and the first 500 dogs through the gates will receive doggie treat bags. For more information on the goings-on this weekend, call 954-747-4600.
