Upcoming event brings people together

The Unity in the Community celebration is taking place this February. It is a presentation of the city of Pompano Beach and the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

The aim of the showpiece is to bring neighbors together, for families to have fun together and to allow local businesses a chance to showcase their products and/or services. The day will consist of a variety of children’s entertainment, music, cultural performances and a demonstration by the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the Pompano Beach Fire Department. There will also be free food and drink and a variety of exhibitor tables and tents; exhibitors will not be selling anything. Exhibitors are expected to represent local businesses, charities and non-profit organizations.

Those who plan to exhibit will receive space for free but they have to provide their own tables, chairs and/or tents. Signs and banners will be allowed but they must be attached to a table or tent. With this in mind, it’s quite likely that many of the Pompano Beach organizations who will be taking part in the event will be contacting their local printing companies to order such items. After all, a colorful banner or sign will catch the eye of passers-by and possibly cause them to stop.

Unity in the Community is going to be held at Pompano Community Park on February 1 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Admission is free. If you wish to sponsor the event, contact Ron Boeh at 954-709-5894. For general information call 954-586-1123.
