Artisans craft for a cause

The 4th annual Crafting for a Cure fundraiser is taking place in Plant City this April. It is a fundraising event for the Cups of Sunshine team, which is part of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides program for breast cancer research.

The event will feature plenty of arts and crafts for sale, entertainment provided by Eddy Dean Classic Music, and a raffle for goody baskets. The types of items expected to be offered for sale will include jewelry, paintings, ceramics, bath and body products, and merchandise from direct sales representatives from such companies as Avon and Tupperware. No doubt there will be a wide variety of items that will please almost every taste.

Artists and crafters can rent space indoors for $40 or outdoors for $30. Each vendor must donate at least one item to the basket raffle.

Fundraising events such as this are usually widely advertised in the Plant City areas. Items such as flyers and booklets are often provide by local print companies for a reasonable price and can be quickly and inexpensively distributed.

Crafting for a Cure will be held at the American Legion Building on April 5 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Admission is free. To find out more about the fundraiser, or to become a vendor, contact Samantha Lane at 813-323-5483.
