Creatures of the night to reveal themselves in Orlando

The Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge will introduce guests to its nocturnal residents during an upcoming fun, and free, Halloween event.

Owloween is a family-friendly event that is both an animal show and a Halloween party. Guests can take part in the face painting, listen to live music, and jump in the bounce house. A costume contest for guests between the ages of 2-10 includes a grand prize of four SeaWorld tickets. Additional raffles for a variety of prizes and a silent auction will also be taking place.

Children can go trick-or-treating and purchase from the bake sale. Food vendors will also supply plenty of refreshments for the crowd, and market vendors will be in attendance for some afternoon shopping. Wildlife visitors will include a fox, owls, bats, and possums.

Those who arrive early can take part in the Wildlife Walk for $5. The walk will be open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and will be free during the Owloween Event to children aged five and under.

Reliant upon donations and volunteers, Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge is a nonprofit organization that rescues and rehabilitates orphaned and injured wildlife. Animals that cannot return to the wild remain cared for at the refuge for life.

Owloween takes place on October 13 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The refuge is found at 10525 Clapp Simms Duda Road in Orlando.
