Unique art raffle to raise funds in Hollywood

December 25, 2012 by

One excellent way to buy original art from an up-and-coming local artists is at the Abracadabra fundraiser in Hollywood, which holds its yearly exhibition and fundraiser early in 2013.

Featuring over 100 works of art from artists affiliated with the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, those attending will buy raffle tickets at the opening reception in January and the draws are made at an event the next month. Last year, raffle ticket prices were $375 for one, $700 for two, and $1,000 for three, while those who just wanted to attend the drawing paid $30.

The event will be a great way to be introduced to current art trends and new artists from all over the area, including nearby North Miami Beach. It is likely that organizers are working with local printing companies to help advertise this unique event.

All of the works up for draw will be exhibited at the Art and Culture Center from January 26 to February 21. The exhibit will be open during normal hours at the center. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for seniors and students.

There will also be an opening reception on January 25 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Ticket prices are free members of the center and $10 for non-members. Those attending will get to preview the works. The live drawing will take place on February 21 and everyone who bought raffle tickets will go home with a work of art. For more information, call 954-921-3274.
