Miami looks to raise funds for school arts education

The annual ‘For the Love of Art’ charity auction will take place in Miami early this June. The event is presented by The Education Fund and raises funds for Miami Dade County public school art programs, as well as Ed Fund’s Ocean Bank Center for Educational Materials. The emcee of this year’s proceedings will be Lissette Gonzalez.

Works of art made from found objects and created by public school students and teachers are auctioned off throughout the evening, with the average number of works sold being around 200 every year.

In addition to the auction, guests will enjoy open bars, gourmet food, and music from artists such as the New World School’s Jazz Band. Also, the Sapoznik Insurance Alumni Achievement Awards will honor local entrepreneurs who have helped to improve the Miami community.

Sponsorships are available for the event from $150 up to $10,000. Sponsors will be recognized at the event through signs and in the souvenir program. This event draws over 500 people every year from all over the area, including nearby North Miami Beach, so organizers are very likely working with local printing companies to both recognize the sponsors with signs and to advertise this annual event throughout the community.

For the Love of Art will take place at the University of Miami Life Science and Technology Park on June 5, beginning at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $125 per person. For more information about the event, or to become a sponsor, call 305-892-5099.
