Palm Beach County to celebrate Woman of the Year this month

October 4, 2013 by

The 2013-2014 Woman of the Year luncheon is happening in Palm Beach this month. It is hosted by the Women in Business committee of the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce.

The Woman of the Year is chosen by the public and her business peers. The nominations are forwarded to the committee, which chooses one winner. In order to be considered for the honor, the woman in question must have demonstrated high leadership standards, contributed much to the success of her business or organization, be committed to helping her community, and have made a significant impact on it through her deeds. The nominating party must list the woman’s business accomplishments, her community services, her previous awards, and education and explain why they think she deserves the award.

The luncheon will bring together a number of successful and accomplished women from all over Palm Beach County, probably including Jupiter, together in one place. Those attending the lunch will no doubt have been in contact with their local printing companies to replenish their business card supply in advance. There should be many chances before, during, and after lunch to exchange cards and talk about business.

The Woman of the Year luncheon is being held at the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott on October 22 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. Tickets are $35 in advance for Chamber members, or $40 at the door, and $50 for non-members. Call 561-746-7111 for more information.
