The Florida Forum Speaker Series presents Dr. Robert Gates

January 30, 2013 by

Dr. Robert M. Gates, former Secretary of Defense, will be speaking at the latest Florida Forum.

Dr. Gates, who is currently the Chancellor of the College of William and Mary, has had a long career that also included being Director of the CIA. He has served under five United States presidents and has been awarded a number of medals, including the Presidential Medal of Honor and the National Security Medal. He is just one of a long line of influential guests who have spoken at the Florida Forum Speaker Series. The next one, and last in the 2012-2013 series, will take place on March 4. It’s very likely that Jacksonville printing companies have played a part in advertising the series through the distribution of flyers and posters.

The Florida Forum Speaker Series is presented by the Women’s Board at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, it helps to raise funds for the Larry J. Freeman Behavioral Health Center. The center provides services to children aged 6-17 and provides, among other things, inpatient mental health services and an eating disorder program.

Dr. Robert Gates will be speaking at the Florida Forum at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts on February 2 beginning at 7:00 PM. Tickets are sold by subscription to the series; tickets for the last two talks of the season are $135 for general admission or $185 for preferred seating. There are also bronze and silver levels for $570 and $1,420; the silver level includes two private receptions.
