Ribfest to tempt the taste-buds at Zoo Miami

October 12, 2013 by

The annual Ribfest is taking place for three days this November, featuring great barbecued food and a cook-off of some of the nation’s best rib experts.

This year, six rib teams from all over the United States have already signed up to compete for prizes in five categories. The categories for which prizes are to be awarded are ribs, chicken, pork, beef brisket, and sauce.

In addition to the food, musical artists like Molly Hatchet, Havoc 305, The Vibe, and James Otto will be performing live concerts. There will also be a classic car show, a farmers’ market, cooking demonstrations, and a motorcycle rally. A children’s area is set to feature hay rides, a mechanical bull, and face painting, while several arts and crafts vendors are expected to be in attendance selling works of art, jewelry, clothing, and cooking utensils to attendees.

This three-day festival is likely to attract visitors from all over, including Hialeah. Local printing companies are probably doing their part by providing marketing materials such as flyers, which can then be distributed throughout the Miami area.

Ribfest is taking place at Zoo Miami from November 1 – 3. Tickets are free on the first evening and $10 for each day after that. VIP tickets are available for $75 a day, which includes food, six beers, and access to a special lounge area. Tickets, which provide access to the festival and the zoo, are $20 each day.
