Healthier lives promoted in Friday event

The 6th annual Tobacco Prevention Summit will take place at Goodlet Park later this week and is a free community event aimed at children and youth. The first 300 children will receive goodie bags and a T-shirt, while the first 1,000 will receive a free snack.

The summit is presented by the City of Hialeah and the Florida Department of Health. It will feature free food and refreshments, games, live entertainment, exhibits, a Kids’ Zone featuring bounce houses and games, exhibits from community organizations, and college representatives.

The keynote speaker of the event will be Rick Bender – a former player with the California Angels. They aim of the event is to ensure that children do not start to smoke and to help educate those who might have already started.

There will no doubt be exhibits from local health organizations who will be providing information to passers-by. They will probably be working with Hialeah printing companies to provide reading material for those who are interested. A brochure, booklet, or flyer can be designed and printed which will provide the necessary information about which those in the community hold an interest. Organizers of the event might also be investing in services such as banner printing to help highlight the various areas and to let the general public know about this annual event.

The event will take place this Friday, November 2 from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm. To find out more about it, call 305-687-2650.
