Art collection tips offered in Miami

January 24, 2013 by

The Bakehouse Art Complex is presenting a lecture series to help people get started as art collectors. The Emerging Collectors Series will present a series of panels on various aspects of collecting art, with the first getting underway this evening (January 24).

The series will take place over three weeks and each panel will be presented by Denise Gerson, an independent art curator. Each panel will take place from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, with tonight’s focusing on the topic of tuning taste in art and making informed decisions. The second will take place on February 7 and will cover the mechanics of making an art purchase, while the third and final panel will take place on February 21 and will be about how to manage an art collection effectively.

In addition to the panel, guests will be served cocktails and light appetizers. The series should be an excellent primer for those who have thought about becoming serious art collectors but are unsure where to start. It will likely draw interested art lovers from all over the area, including nearby Hialeah. Organizers may have considered invested in flyer printing services to market this upcoming series.

For local businesses who wish to help, sponsorships are available from $1,000 to $10,000 and sponsors will be recognized on all printed advertising for the event.

The Emerging Collectors Series takes place at the Bakehouse Art Complex. Tickets are $25 for each panel or $60 for all three. For more information, call Gita Shonek at 305-576-2828.
