Fort Lauderdale confirms festive pageant dates

The holidays will ring out in Fort Lauderdale this season as sounds and sights surround residents and visitors, with the Fort Lauderdale Christmas Pageant being a significant contributor to the season.

The traditional pageant premiered over 25 years ago in a local auditorium. The 10th anniversary saw the opening of the current sanctuary, which was designed to present the Christmas story. A decade later, a new Austrian curtain was ushered in, along with new sets. Celebrating the 25th silver anniversary, the entity added new flying effects, music, and a full array of costumes.

With a setting that features a turn-of-the-century theme, familiar carols in concert will be present. A musical rendition of nativity will be included, along with a winter wonderland of snow falling throughout.

Hundreds of students and children, ranging from infants to high-school kids, have played a part in the many years of pageants. Some, according to the event’s website, have gone on to enjoy professional careers in the performing arts.

The Christmas Pageant will take place November 30 through December 15 in the downtown community of Fort Lauderdale at the FBC center. Tickets are now on sale for this two-and-a-half-hour production, with matinee and evening performances available.

Local print companies are often called upon to produce materials for performing arts entities and production companies. Catalog printing is a common request so that performers can be listed and recognized, along with all of the other people involved in productions and public shows.
