Copacabana to open in Fort Lauderdale this September

Get out your dancing shoes, because the legendary Latin themed New York City restaurant and dance club, Copacabana, is preparing to open a new location in the space formerly occupied by the Laugh Factory Comedy Club in Fort Lauderdale.

The New York Copacabana location is an American institution that has hosted performances by the likes of Frank Sinatra, the Temptations and Sammy Davis, Jr. This high profile venue is expected to draw people from throughout Florida and beyond, and one or more local print companies will likely be hired for menu and brochure printing, and perhaps even business card printing.

Club owners searched the entire south Florida coastal region for three years before deciding on the former comedy club location. Many in the Fort Lauderdale community are seeing it as a welcome addition to the city’s already stellar nightlife and tourism sectors.

The new club is planning a similar atmosphere as is found in the New York branch, which is affectionately called only “Copa”. A Latin tapas menu may be expected along with desserts and Caribbean inspired cocktails. The 15 piece Copa band will keep the air energized with their signature blend of Latin jazz and dance tunes during early evening hours, and some of the areas best dance DJs are expected to keep the crowd moving late night. The club is planning to open daily from 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM.

Although an official date has yet to be confirmed, the club is aiming for a late September grand opening.
