Brandon Chamber has full schedule ahead

March 1, 2012 by

Through informative workshops and networking events, the Brandon Chamber of Commerce is giving local business owners several great opportunities to market themselves and acquire valuable skills at the same time.

Things start quickly with Young Professionals hosting a “Networking Social” on the 1st. Free for members and priced at a very reasonable $5 for non-members, this is a great chance to gain new contacts for those who are willing to bring a good supply of business card printing. Although the costs are obviously within range for most, organizers are still looking to use this event as a means of supporting various non-profit organizations.

For this upcoming gathering, attendees are asked to bring practical items for the Women’s Resource Center like:

“Nonperishable Foods such as: Macaroni & Cheese; Peanut Butter; Jelly; Canned Meat (Tuna/Chicken/Ham); Soup; Cereal; Hamburger Helper; Skillet Meals; Canned Fruit; Spaghetti Pasta and Personal Care Items such as: Shampoo; Conditioner; Deodorant; Body Wash; Toothpaste/Toothbrushes.” (sic.)

After this, the chamber will be hosting a 2012 Biz Ed 101 event that’s been called “Hiring Tactics: How to Get the Right Person for the Job” on the 6th. Starting at 11:00 am and expected to conclude at 1:00 pm, business owners and managers can hear what speakers have to say on the topic of talent recruitment and hiring.

All this is without mentioning the Networking at Noon meet-up that’s being held later in the month on March 20th. With so much going on, Brandon business owners can accomplish quite a lot this month.
