Art to be shared in Boca Raton

The Boca Raton Museum of Art’s outdoor juried art festival, coming up in a couple of weeks, has been named one of the top art festival in the United States and draws over 50,000 visitors annually. It is an excellent opportunity for local artists to become known in the community and for residents to discover some wonderful works of art.

This year’s festival will have over 250 exhibit spaces for local artists. Those artists will compete for awards and $11,000 in cash prizes. There will be nine merit awards handed out, which come with a $1,000 prize, and Best in Show, which will be awarded $2,000. Artists applied to take part in the festival by submitting four digital images. Those artists accepted can display and sell their works during the festival. All booths are equipped with free signage, and no doubt the organizers will be working with Boca Raton printing companies to provide those signs.

The art festival is not only an opportunity for artists but it is a great way for the general public to be exposed to the local art scene. It is likely that many of them will discover an artist whose work and career they want to follow in the future. With that in mind, many of the artists might very well be giving away business cards or free postcards containing their contact information.

The 27th annual Boca Raton Museum of Art outdoor juried art festival will take place at Mizner Park from February 9 – 10. Admission is free. For more information, call the Museum of Art at 561-392-2500 x210.
