Central Alabama dining options set for a shake-up

September 6, 2013 by

Steak ‘n Shake chief operations officer for Central Alabama, Van Crawford, recently announced that two Steak ‘n Shake restaurants will be opening in Hoover, just a short distance from Alabaster, within the next six months. Most likely banner printing will be used at the Alabaster restaurant, which opened last June and is located near the intersection of U.S. 31 and South Central Drive, to make those in the area aware of these restaurant openings.

One of the new restaurants will be opening at the corner of Valleydale Road and U.S. 280 in the Inverness Plaza Shopping Center in late February or early March of next year. The other one had originally been scheduled to open in early November on Montgomery Highway in the former location of Brother Zeke’s Heavenly Barbeque. However, that restaurant caught fire on July 20 and there was serious smoke and fire damage to the kitchen, storage room, and office areas, so the opening had to be delayed.

Crawford said that leases had been signed for both locations before the fire occurred, so the plan to move into the Brother Zeke location will go forward as scheduled. He added that the two locations were readily available had good traffic in the area, which was why they were chosen for the new restaurants.

The first Steak ‘n Shake that was opened in Alabaster was well received, according to Crawford, so more restaurants are planned for central Alabama.

Hand-dipped milkshakes and steak burgers and are the specialties of the restaurant, although various breakfast and other items are also served.
