Somerville seminar offers database for business owners

Business owners and entrepreneurs in the Somerville area have the opportunity to attend the library’s latest seminar: Business Source Premier Tips and Tricks. The workshop will provide a comprehensive look at one of the leading tools for small business owners.

Business Source Premier is a database tool helpful in business research. It features a large range of Full Text Business Publications that users can find, read, and even search through the citations.

The reason it is considered a must-have for local businesses is the inclusion of a regional publication feature at no extra cost. Updated daily, the supplemental regional journals and magazines provide a user with all of the local economic and business developments he or she might need to grow their business. Topics covered in the database include marketing services, accounting and bookkeeping, management and management information systems, operations management, economics, and finance.

The seminar will cover a lot of the key features of the software and how to use them. The presenter will go through a variety of search topics to demonstrate how it might be used in the areas of restaurant management and regional real estate. Attendees will then be allowed to run their own searches, first guided by the instructor and then on their own.

Business Source Premier Tips and Tricks will be held on July 8 starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Somerville Public Library, located at 35 West End Ave. Attendance to the event is free.
