Snellville to host blood drive in new location

July 27, 2017 by

Residents of Snellville and the areas that surrounded it have been asked to take a few minutes of their time to become an everyday hero.

The Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive at a new location in the community, and it is hoping that people will be generous. The donations made will be used in the treatment of a huge assortment of medical conditions as well as to help provide emergency care for those who have been injured, are undergoing surgery, newborn babies and those with cancer and certain autoimmune issues.

Those who plan on giving blood are reminded to make sure they have plenty to drink on the day of the event and to come wearing comfortable clothes with short sleeves or ones that can be rolled up. They will also need to bring along a piece of ID and a list of any medications they may be taking. The entire process takes just an hour, with the actual donation taking between as few at 8 to 10 minutes. After this, each donor will be given a light snack and they can then go back to their usual routine. An area printer can supply an assortment of small branded items, such as promotional pens, that can be given to each person who comes to a function such as this as a way of thanking the for their contribution.

The blood donor clinic has been planned for August 4th at the Snellville City Hall. More information about the event can be found on the community’s website.
